Supporting Guides On and Off the Water
“We all owe a great debt to our guides – these river stewards and gatekeepers of the wild. They inspire us to lead a more thoughtful life and instill in us an irreplaceable connection with the natural world. Now more than ever, we look to our guides.”
-Jack Reis, Fishpond
The Guide Relief Program (GRP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support to guides in crisis through small grants. We aim to alleviate some of the financial burdens that guides may face during difficult times.
In addition to financial assistance, we also offer access to two months of free and confidential mental health services. We understand the importance of prioritizing the mental health of guides and strive to provide the necessary support that they need.
What guides are saying:
“I very much appreciate the hearts and work of those at the GRP. They have helped so many fishing guides – not just with assistance grants, but with critical things like mental-health services – when nobody else or no other group exists to help us. The GRP is a stand-up voice for fishing guides and looks after us. This group and their programs are vital to the fly-fishing community.” ~Grant Recipient
