Why Mental Health & Well-being
Our goal is simple: to start the conversation about mental health. We want to help our guide community understand that it is okay to not feel like yourself and to speak with someone about it. That someone could simply be a friend whom you love and trust, but there may come a time when your friend is out of their depth, and you need to speak with a professional. Not unlike a fishing guide, a mental health professional can help you navigate whatever mental health issues you may be experiencing.
The Guide Relief Program offers approved guides two months of access to mental health services at no cost through our partnership with BetterHelp. With BetterHelp’s comprehensive Mental Health Program, guides will have unprecedented access to services to keep them healthy on and off the water.
This 100% confidential program is available to any guide who applies and proves they are a guide. It’s as simple as that!
Once approved, the guide will be matched with a licensed board-certified therapist according to your needs and preferences. After being matched, you will receive two months of therapy at no cost, which includes:
Unlimited messaging with the therapist
Weekly live sessions with the therapist (over video or phone at the member’s choice)
Participation in group sessions
Full use features, such as journaling, worksheets, and guides
Depression
Stress & Anxiety
Food disorders
Addiction
Family conflicts
Couples therapy
At no time during the process will anyone associated with the Guide Relief Program
have any knowledge if a guide accesses services.
All communication is confidential.
